We can only imagine what linesman Nigel Bannister saw at Vicarage Road on Saturday. His explanation, that it was an "optical illusion" seems to be the only reasonable excuse for such a terrible mistake.
If that is the case, should we continue to place all our trust in the officials to make game-changing goal line decisions?
