So Frank Lampard has rejected Jose Mourinho's advances for now and signed a new five year contract with Chelsea which, according to The Guardian, will make the midfielder the highest paid player in the Premier League at a ludicrous £140k per week.
At least the Blues can afford it. With Chelsea set to receive £13.68m from former player Adrian Mutu, Peter Kenyon won't have to go crawling to Roman Abramovich for the money.
Now his contract issues are resolved, will we see the return of Lampard to his 2005/06 heights, when he bagged 16 league goals? Row ZZ thinks so.
Check out this effort from Chelsea's pre-season win over Guangzhou and make up your own mind.

The thought of someone paying a 35 year-old Lampard almost £7.5million a week is so absurd you have to laugh. He's now officially the English Barry Zito.
that was exactly like my goal yesterday... when nedved scored, i mean me
